Love books <3
Time to read
I feel the weather coming on, the kind that makes my bones ache
and long for someone kind to hold me when the cold seeps in again.
The fall that brings my need to nest and cook some stews and soups and such, the stuff of life and comfort
that which I can make and find.
I hear the sound of fall in birds and crickets singing sweet dark songs
reminders of the gifts that pass each year as I grow old,
and looking forward looking back I see the road I’m on and maybe this year some new wind will come to claim me…
I feel that darkness slipping in, the kind that makes me cry sometimes
and long for someone kind to catch my heartbeats.
The line the time and trust
it slips away like that chair you thought you could now rest on for a few
No bargain, no reason
just hurt to hurt
again
Disease like love that rips away the sweetness
A good mirage for a little while
then back to default
Ma Parker stood, looking up and down. The icy wind blew out her apron into a balloon. And now it began to rain. There was nowhere.

Friends, I’d like you to meet Bear and Archer, my nephews. They’re 9 and 10, and they’re the most selfless kids I know.
They’re on a mission this summer to help the homeless of Phoenix. As you know it gets REALLY hot here - the egg frying on a sidewalk isn’t just a joke, it can be done. Water is a precious commodity for these folks, as well as socks, clean shirts, simple toiletries, and - my favorite - small care packs for canine pals as well.
It doesn’t take much at all to help get a couple bottles of water or clean socks to people who need it; and you’re helping two kids learn important things about running a charity, economics, compassion and human interaction.
Please share this, even if you cannot help. We can reach an audience these boys can’t get to on their own. Thank you!
Phoenix is under an excessive heat watch this weekend with highs expected between 115 and 120.
Now would be an excellent time to help people out.
This is the sweetest, most adorable thing. They have a “hire us” link. They’ll mow your lawn or do chores for donations. There’s also an Amazon wish list with items like water and socks, and a donations link.

One of the most devastating moments in life is when you realize that the person you thought was your soulmate, is not. I wish no one had to go through this, and I’m happy for those that don’t.
You never know what another person is going through or has been through. You never know the things they tuck away deep inside and hide from the rest of the world. You never know the things they have seen, the things they have done, the whole of who they are. You only know what they show you. And even that is clouded by your own perceptions.
